Smart Technologies Limited has appointed John Montanaro as its first Chief Revenue Officer.

John, who is clearly passionate about sales and business development, and who is, in his own words “customer obsessed”, has over twenty years’ experience in senior commercial roles across various industries, including travel, FMCG, high-end jewellery, telecoms, recruitment, banking, life sciences and IT services. He is also a keen amateur actor and Xterra triathlete “with strong competitive tendencies.”

John’s brief at STL is to be responsible for all revenue-generating elements within the organisation.

He will also have ultimate accountability in aligning and building strategic partnerships with cross-functional expertise. He will be achieving this by ensuring that communication and information sharing run smoothly between departments, and through working with other executive team members to execute corporate strategic plans, by expanding into new customer segments and partnerships. Ultimately, he will be working closely with leaders, managers, and other executives to ensure that the organisation achieves its goals in revenue generation throughout the year.

Smart Technologies CEO Joe Aquilina explained that the shift in focus on revenue reflects a more holistic approach towards covering all avenues of business generation within STL, including sales, marketing, events and relationship building with customers. “We are very confident that in John we have found the right ambassador for the Smart Technologies brand. His experience, dynamism and focused determination is just what we need at this juncture of STL’s rapid and diverse development, in order to ensure the structured and sustainable growth of the company.”
